I’ve been a big fan of Rapportive ever since it was first introduced. I also must confess to being somewhat of a “tool whore” which has, from time to time, resulted in me straying over to try out a variety of competing applications that will bring some social to Gmail. These have included Gist (still very nice), Xobni (worth considering), and Etacts (R.I.P.). There have been a variety of others. That all being said, I have ALWAYS returned to Rapportive. Particularly as of late, my allegiance seems to be even more well chosen.
Recently, Google introduced what they call the People Widget which certainly makes Gmail a more useful tool particularly for managing and finding your email conversations with particular clients. I was a little concerned about what effect, if any, this would have on Rapportive as it seemed to me that the new Gmail widget would want to occupy the same sidebar section of real estate presently used by Rapportive. Rapportive answered this by integrating the People Widget, and it’s benefits, directly into Rapportive. Awesome!
The People Widget integration was only introduced a few weeks ago (if that). Today, Rapportive carries it to the next level. Check it out!
So, if you are crazy about Gmail but wish it were a little more organized and social, and you are not quite ready for a full Social CRM like Nimble, give Rapportive a try! It is available as an add-on for FireFox or as an extension for Chrome. It may also be available on other browsers. The folks at Rapportive are also super cool and their support and engagement is outstanding!
Thanks for visting!
