I spent the better part of last evening laying out the power point presentation for my workshop entitled “Add a Little Social to Your Email & CRM” which I will conduct on September 30. You can register for the event here.
This workshop will cover several free tools that you can integrate with your existing email and/or maybe even your CRM. We will look at three popular platforms: Salesforce Outlook, and Gmail. Applications discussed will include: Gist, Rapportive, Etacts, Xobni, Outlook Social Connector, Outlook LinkedIn interface, and Twitter and Chatter for Salesforce. I’ll also throw in a little WiseStamp and NutShell Mail as I consider these applications to be beneficial and appropriate. Links will be provided to all the tools discussed (we’ll even show some that will not be part of the presentation but worthy of a look) and, finally, those who attend will get a special sneak peek at something that very few folks are even aware of. That would be called “the hook”. LOL
With so many applications to cover, I have decided to employ screen shots rather than be live on each program. Finding something that will allow me to capture screens and do a nice annotation did require a little research. I have selected a FireFox add-on called FireShot to do this. I am using the free version but there is also a Pro (paid) offering. Here is a sample that I just made while doing this post ……
So, why FireShot? There are a number of things I like about this app ….
- It is very easy to use but provides a lot of flexibility
- I like the way that the annotations display and the box adjusts to the amount of text and you can also drag the box, and the pointer, around to where you want it. The pointer destination remains anchored.
- This is HUGE. You would maybe not think so but, it is. FireShot is the only free application that I can find that does all of the above and lets me place the annotations outside of the captured image. In retrospect, I suppose you could create a white border around any image but why would I want to go that extra step?
Short post today. I’m headed to the Western Idaho Fair for my traditional Lamb Gyro with feta cheese. Woot!
Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you local folks at Meridian Business Day!
